Signs Of Desperation
Over the past few weeks, supporters of Amendment 3 have been reporting the same thing again and again. Yard signs are disappearing overnight, and others are left slashed, spray-painted or torn in half. These signs were on private lawns, along roadsides and at local businesses, put up by people who simply wanted to let their neighbors know where they stand.
Perhaps the most troubling example yet: an Anglican church in Webster Groves has had 15 signs stolen from its property on Elm Avenue. The same people who call their political opponents fascists are now trying to stop a church from speaking up for Amendment 3, a measure that protects women and children. It’s not a coincidence. It's a sign of desperation. We will keep putting replacement signs up no matter how hard they try to silence Christians.
Dark money from coastal elites can't buy Missouri
Opponents of Amendment 3 have raised more than $12 million of dark money from coastal progressive groups with no stake in our community. With that much money, you'd expect a confident campaign that wins people over with its arguments. Instead, voters here keep rejecting their message, and some on the other side have turned to taking signs they can't out-argue.
A movement that's winning doesn't need to steal its opponents' signs. Tearing down someone's sign is an attempt to make your neighbors feel alone and afraid to speak, and it's an admission that you can't win the conversation honestly.
We won't be silenced
Every sign that disappears tells us our message is getting through. People notice, and they're having conversations in their kitchens, churches and workplaces about what Amendment 3 means for our families and future.
What you can do if they try to deny you your rights
Replace it.
Document it. Take a photo, note the date and time, and save any doorbell or security camera footage.
Report it. Taking or damaging a sign on private property is a crime, so file a report with local law enforcement.
Speak up. Talk to your neighbors, share this post and make sure everyone you know has a plan to vote.
They have the coastal money, but we have the truth and the courage of our convictions, and that's why we're going to win. Vote for Amendment 3.
