LGBTQ+ Agenda Promotion and Gender Transition Concealment in Kirkwood Public Schools
The Kirkwood R-7 School District
The Kirkwood R-7 School District is promoting the LGBTQ+ agenda to students. They are part of a successful nationwide progressive effort to spread transgenderism. The number of transgender children ages 13–17 in Missouri has grown from 2,500 in 2017 to 14,200 in 2025, according to the UCLA School of Law Williams Center. This document outlines how the Kirkwood School District promotes the LGBTQ+ agenda and what steps you can take to protect our community’s children from predatory gender transition concealment by progressives.
Sora Online Library – Taxpayer-Funded Pornography Targeted to Children
The Kirkwood School District provides a great deal of pornographic material on the Sora online library application. The material is so vile and improper that if an adult were to give a child many of the items made available by the schools, they would be arrested. This was confirmed by taking the material to the Kirkwood Police Department and showing it to the police. But since the School District is determined to sexualize and groom children, they make it available to children. Any self-respecting individual with any sense who wanted to protect the innocence of children would know better. Anyone with evil intent would be arrested.
Why Do We Need an Opt-Out Page if Nothing Is Wrong?
The Kirkwood School District website has an Opt-Out page for concerned parents. The material is so vile and so many parents have complained that they were forced to give parents the chance to shield their child. This is a damning indictment of what they are doing. A family should not have to opt out; a family should have to opt in. The school provides a Sora program to students. Here is access to the material collected by a parents’ organization called Kirkwood for Education Integrity. This material is very graphic, so please do not access it at work or near children. It is so disturbing and pornographic that you could be cited by your employer.
Taxpayer-Funded LGBTQ+ Clubs for Children
The District also has a Gender and Sexual Alliance (GSA) club at the high school. The mission is “to support our school’s LGBTQ+ sexuality community and deepen awareness about the issues and unique experiences faced by that community.” That is peer promotion of the LGBTQ+ agenda to children which leads to gender transition concealment. In a recent survey of Kirkwood School District voters, 59% opposed such organizations in Kirkwood schools.
The Upcoming Year Plans To Groom Children
A July 26, 2023, email from Jeremy Mapp, Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, outlined a summary of a GSA Leaders meeting summarizing his plans for the upcoming school year. Some of the items that summarized the objectives included the following:
Safe Space Stickers for Teachers to Create Space for Conversation
This is a description from the NEA about safe space stickers. The NEA is the teachers’ union representing Kirkwood School District teachers:
“Consider posting LGBTQIA+ Pride, Safe Space stickers, or other markers of inclusion. If you have not seen others posting similar items in their classroom, make sure to tell your principal in advance so that you can address any concerns they may have. If your principal or another school administrator prohibits you from posting such inclusive posters, consult your union representative about how best to proceed. Posting overtly political materials in your classroom without clear authorization to do so may result in disciplinary action.”
The purpose of these stickers is to invite children to have private sexuality discussions with teachers who are not licensed to deal with such issues. The Unions warn teachers that they may get into trouble with their administrators and recognize that they are blatantly politicking and sexualizing children without parental consent or knowledge.
Mentors for the Queer Community Coming into Meetings for Motivational Speaking
The High School and the two Middle Schools appear to have Clubs to promote the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. The memo was about inviting outside speakers. There is no mention of vetting, ages, qualifications, or certifications for the “mentors.” There was no mention if the “mentors” met Missouri statutes for people who have access to Kirkwood School District children. The 2024 Missouri Revised Statutes, Title XI - Education and Libraries, Chapter 168 - Personnel — Teachers and Others, states that the “school district shall ensure that a criminal background check is conducted for all screened volunteers, who shall complete the criminal background check prior to being left alone with a student. Screened volunteers include, but are not limited to, persons who regularly assist in the office or library, mentor or tutor students, coach or supervise a school-sponsored activity before or after school, or chaperone students on an overnight trip.”
Day to Jefferson City to Advocate for Queer Rights
This references a planned day trip for students and staff members to take time from what they are supposed to be engaged in—education—to go lobby the legislature for Queer Rights. The Missouri Legislative Session lasts from January to May and meets from Monday to Thursday. This is an outrageous misuse of a child’s education and taxpayer funds to take a day to lobby state legislators. That is not what we are paying the district to do.

An Appeal to Common Sense
The worst and most condemning evidence that the Kirkwood School District is concealing gender transitions among children is the fact that if a child is transitioning sexually, the district’s employees are under no obligation to inform the parents. After feeding children gay and transgender pornography and supporting an LGBTQ+ student organization, they won’t tell a parent that they have successfully convinced a child to change their sexuality or gender. This is the essence of gender transition concealment.
We approached the new Superintendent, Doug Roumpas, on this issue to change the policy so parents would be notified if the DEI Director or another staff member successfully convinced a child to transition on Friday, September 12, 2025. After pointing out what is happening and asking him to change the policy to stop gender transition concealment, he would not commit to doing so. The School Board President, Judy Moticka, encroached on the discussion and said something to the effect that children have the capacity to pick their gender. I sent her an email asking her to confirm what she said and her position, but she has not responded.
