Help Stop Transgender Grooming in Public Schools
Growth in Transgenderism
The increase in transgenderism is directly tied to K-12 public education promoting the LGBTQ+ agenda in schools. According to a Gallup article published on March 20, 2025, *“LGBTQ+ identification is increasing as younger generations of Americans enter adulthood and are much more likely than older generations to say they are something other than heterosexual. More than one in five Gen Z adults — those born between 1997 and 2006, who were between the ages of 18 and 27 in 2024 — identify as LGBTQ+.”*
Missouri Statistics
In Missouri, the number of transgender children grew from 2,500 in 2017 to 14,200 in 2025, according to the UCLA Williams Institute. This represents a staggering 468% increase. There is no natural explanation for this phenomenon other than K-12 public education’s embrace and promotion of transgenderism.
Gender Dysphoria
Historically, transgenderism and gender dysphoria were considered mental illnesses. Today, transgender individuals continue to show alarming rates of suicidal tendencies. According to the *2022 U.S. Transgender Survey – Health and Wellbeing Report* (p. 7), 78% of respondents reported lifetime suicidal thoughts, and 40% reported lifetime suicide attempts. This data comes from an organization that actively supports transgenderism. In addition, several recent high-profile school shootings involving transgender individuals suggest that transgenderism is contributing to violent and sociopathic behavior in some cases.
Philip Oehlerking Provides Leadership
Parents at Parkway South Middle School photographed billboards placed in sixth- and seventh-grade hallways that openly promoted transgenderism to children as young as eleven. Parents took pictures (see below) of the murals during a Parent’s Nigh in August. These displays were removed only after State Representative Philip Oehlerking (R-100) contacted the district and requested Superintendent Melissa Schneiderrt remove them.
Parents Kept in the Dark
The publicly available Follett online library search engine shows that both Kirkwood and Parkway schools stock books available to children supporting transgenderism. Furthermore, in a March 28, 2025 conversation with David Ulrich at the Missouri Association of School Administrators annual convention, it was confirmed that Kirkwood does not notify parents when a high school student is transitioning to a gender different from their biological sex. Once the district normalizes transgenderism, it withholds this information from parents — effectively placing itself in the role of grooming children.
Needed Reforms
Considering these alarming circumstances, districts must stop promoting the LGBTQ+ agenda in public schools. Teachers should be required to submit lesson plans to ensure classroom instruction does not advance this agenda. In addition, school policies must be changed to require employees — under penalty of termination — to inform parents if a child is transitioning. The Missouri State Government must intervene to protect children and parental rights.
